Compounders on Capitol HillThe International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP) met in Washington DC June 13th thru 16th, 2009 to explain the importance of compounding to our senators & congressmen. From Broadway Apothecary, Kate James attended the event to inform Oregon’s elected officials of background information on compounding to aid them in making educated decisions for Oregon’s patients. Since we provide medication solutions to patients throughout Oregon, we took the time to visit both Oregon Senators and all district Representatives.

“Our Senators and representatives seemed genuinely interested in how compounded prescriptions help people and animals" says James, "They and their staff enjoyed hearing how we solve medication problems by treating each patient as an individual. Our country is making huge decisions right now about healthcare, and we wanted to remind the people who represent us that one size does not always fit all.”
